A Thanksgiving Celebration- Aini Despachio

Join us for a transformative Thanksgiving retreat that honors the spirit of gratitude, inspired by both the modern-day Thanksgiving traditions and the ancient Q’ero practice of Aini Despacho. This unique ceremony invites us to give thanks to Mother Earth for her abundant gifts, much like the Pilgrims did with their Native American neighbors after their first harvest.

At the heart of our retreat is the Aini Despacho ceremony, which embodies the principle of reciprocal giving. The word “Aini” translates to “In correct relationship to,” reminding us that when we offer our gratitude, we receive blessings in return—often a thousandfold. Just as a tree returns the gift of water with shade, fruit, and the air we breathe, we, too, can cultivate a profound connection with the Earth through our expressions of thanks.

In addition to the ceremony, we will explore nearby temples, including the Temple of Zeus in Nemea, the Temple of Mycenae, and the Temple of Asclepius in Epidavros. Each visit will deepen our understanding of gratitude and connection to the land.

Come join us in this sacred celebration of Thanksgiving, where we will learn the true essence of “Living in Gratitude” and nurture our relationship with Mother Earth. Together, we will create a space of thankfulness, reflection, and joy.

Pick-up / Drop-off from Athens Airport, Double Occupancy Accommodation, Breakfast, tickets, and shuttle to the ancient sites.
